Finding Anchor Points because The Cobbler Has Holes in Her Shoes

There’s an old saying: “The cobbler has holes in her shoes.” It means that even the people who spend their lives helping others often neglect the very thing they know best.

That’s me.

I guide women through change, transition, and all the messy emotions that come with it — but lately, I’ve been living my own lessons about fear, stability, and creating a new foundation.

The Return of the Panic Voice

Not long ago, I caught myself spiraling into money panic again. Property taxes, repayment loans, bills stacked up — and that old, familiar whisper returned:

“You’re back in chaos. You’ll never get ahead.”

That’s the voice of survival mode, the one that kept me running on adrenaline for years. But here’s what I’m realizing:

I am not in the same chaos cycle anymore.

Finding Anchor Points

What’s different this time are the anchor points — steady markers you can return to when fear tries to drag you back.

Anchor points might look like:

  • Letting go of a situation that no longer values or supports you.
  • Having even a small but steady source of income or support.
  • Planting seeds for a new project, opportunity, or offering that feels aligned.

These anchors don’t make everything perfect, but they remind you that you’re not where you used to be. They give you something solid to lean into — and that changes everything.

Choosing Space Instead of Rescue

What I need right now isn’t another hustle or a desperate rescue mission. What I need is space — space to breathe, to let new streams of support grow, and to settle into a rhythm at home that feels supportive instead of draining.

Progress doesn’t always shout. Sometimes it whispers. It comes in quiet, steady steps.

✨ And maybe you need this reminder too:

You don’t have to have it all figured out right this second.

You are building steadiness, piece by piece. Your anchor points are proof of that.

A Gentle Reflection

Take a moment and ask yourself:

What are your anchor points right now — the steady markers that remind you you’re no longer in the same chaos cycle?

Write them down. Hold them close. Return to them whenever the panic voice rises.

Keep sparkling, Kristen
