I’ve always leaned toward the feeling side of life. Recently, I’ve been wondering: as I enter what might be the winter of my life, has this perspective sometimes steered me astray? Relying on my feelings to guide my next choice and step?
It’s that old, familiar voice of doubt—still dancing a tango with me. Navigating the emotional, mental, spiritual, and physical realms feels like a delicate, shifting dance. Each aspect doesn’t outweigh the others; they all work together. The body depends on our emotional, mental, and spiritual senses to signal that it’s safe.
But if we’ve experienced adverse events in childhood, there can be residual memories stored in the body, leaving literal imprints on our DNA and cells. Imagine one of those old-fashioned letter stamps pressing an adverse experience onto our DNA—a “trauma tattoo” that endures, not just for this lifetime but possibly beyond. This can lead to a heightened sensitivity, an ever-present question: Am I safe?
Since November 5th, I’ve been leaning heavily on the Ho’oponopono prayer, known as the Four Mantras: “I’m sorry. Please forgive me. Thank you. I love you.” This prayer has become a mantra for me, especially when I feel pulled out of my zone of safety.
I created a downloadable version for you to print out, with a bit more explanation. This affirming prayer invites self-forgiveness—a practice we’re rarely taught to nurture regularly—and it helps us recognize what’s bubbling up within us, seeking to be healed.
It’s okay to feel and to ride the waves of our current challenges and situations. I hope that this comforting practice will support you on your healing journey.

I take responsibility for everything that affects my state of being.
I’M SORRY:
I recognize and accept responsibility for my actions, thoughts, and emotions that have caused conflict to manifest into my reality.
PLEASE FORGIVE ME:
I seek forgiveness as a request to make amends with my higher self and the universe alike.
THANK YOU:
I express gratitude to my higher self as well as the universe for allowing my negative thoughts, actions, and emotions to be cleared
I LOVE YOU:
I emit out to the universe (God, source energy, etc) as a form of gratitude for allowing me this earth experience.
